Handmade Copper-Plated Tile – Oceana Patina

Bring the extraordinary colors of weathered copper into your space with these handmade copper-plated tiles. Each copper sheet is put through our unique alchemical patina process using carefully curated organic compounds, heat, time, and hand-applied techniques to transform the copper surface, creating a vibrant combination of turquoise, aqua blue, teal, warm copper, burnt orange, bronze, amber, and earthy brown tones.

This patina features a warm, copper-forward appearance, with brilliant turquoise and blue-green oxidation flowing across areas of exposed orange and burnished copper. The contrast creates an organic surface reminiscent of turquoise stone set into copper, desert minerals, weathered bronze, and naturally oxidized metal.

The handcrafted patina develops differently across every tile, producing natural variations in color, texture, and pattern. No two pieces are exactly alike. When installed together, these variations create a dramatic surface with the depth and movement of naturally weathered copper.

Each tile is hand-hammered smooth around the edges, giving the piece a subtly worked, artisan finish. Finally, the surface and edges are sealed with a clear epoxy coating, preserving the patina underneath and giving it a durable, finished surface while enhancing the remarkable color and depth of the material.

The standard, modular tile format makes these tiles easy to incorporate into both traditional and contemporary designs, while the genuine copper-plated finish gives them a distinctive industrial, rustic, and artistic character. No special tools or materials are needed for installation, as they can be cut and installed in the same fashion as traditional ceramic and porcelain tile. We do recommend using unsanded grout and cleaning with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge.
