About TILEZE
Located in the Heartland of America, TILEZE is a U.S. company dedicated to designing and handcrafting distinctive copper tiles, stone and copper medallions, backsplashes, wall installations, and custom architectural pieces. Our work combines the unpredictable beauty of natural copper with an artisan process that ensures every piece has its own character.
Where Art Meets Alchemy
Our process begins with bare, 5mil genuine copper and a blank canvas.
Using carefully selected organic compounds, heat, time, and hand-applied techniques, we encourage the copper to transform through our unique alchemical patina process. Mother Nature plays an important role. The reactions that occur across the metal produce remarkable combinations of copper, bronze, turquoise, teal, verdigris, bright blue, earthy browns, and countless colors and formations in between. No two pieces are exactly alike, and they aren't supposed to be.
Rather than printing or reproducing a pattern, we allow the copper itself to become the artwork.
Handcrafted, One Piece at a Time
Patination is only the beginning.
Each piece of copper is cut, assembled, and wrapped by hand, then the corners are hand-hammered smooth, creating the subtly worked edges and handcrafted character that distinguish TILEZE from conventional manufactured tile.
Every copper tile is finished with a clear epoxy coating to ensure durability and scratch resistance, while protecting the patina underneath and enhancing the brilliance of the color and movement.
A New Home for TILEZE
2026 marks an exciting new chapter for TILEZE as we move into our new warehouse, studio, office, assembly workshop, and showroom facility.
These parts together in our bigger facility, gives us more dedicated space where ideas can flow from experimentation and patina development to hand assembly, finishing, and completed installations. It's not simply a warehouse—it's a place where chemistry, craftsmanship, experimentation, and design come together.
Made for Your Space
Our tiles are available individually in classic modular sizes, allowing designers, homeowners, builders, and artists to create installations that reflect their own style. They can be used for kitchen backsplashes, bar fronts, fireplace surrounds, accent walls, feature walls, decorative installations, and countless other applications.
But we're artisans at heart, and we don't believe creativity should be limited to what's listed in a catalog.
Custom sizes, patterns, bespoke pieces, and one-of-a-kind projects are available upon request. If you have an unusual space, an ambitious design, or simply an idea you haven't seen anywhere else, we'd love the opportunity to explore it with you!
